How to increase website ranking
By mathslover
What is website optimization?
Website optimization is improving your website to gain a higher rank in search engines. By doing so you can increase the amount of visits to your webpage or website. The higher a website ranks, the more potential visits it has. By learning how to optimize your webpage, it will help you to know that your site can be accessed by search engines.
Website optimization
Usually, when a web user types their keyword into a search engine, they seach within the first 10-20 results, finding what they are looking for somewhere in between. Being listed within the first ten searches is your biggest goal. When aiming to rank high on search engines, meta tags, heading tages, image tags, keywords, and the overall design plays a hugh part.
How will keywords help in website optimization?
A keyword maybe long tailed or short tailed, a long tail keyword is a phrase and a short tail keyword is a word. But what is a keyword? A keyword is a word or set of words that your webpage is all about. This means that if your webpage is about plants or if it is about how to make your plants healthy the keywords should be plants and plant health respectively.
It is best to use a long tailed keyword rather than a short tailed keyword. When using a short tailed keyword you will not rank high. If for instance your site is about plant health, using plant as a keyword will not be advisible, because this may imply that the website is about everything to do with plants it is better to use how to make plants healthy because this is more direct.
When optimizing your webpage you need to think like the web users not the publisher. You need to know what keyword best fits your webpage. Be direct, if your webpage is about Black kids hairstyles the keyword should not be hairstyles.
Your selection of keywords is very important to your site.
Meta tags and Image tags
A meta tag is a little description about the website which appears beneath the title of that site in the search engine results. Your meta tag should be attractive and precise, it should also include your keywords. A meta tag operates like a summary it gives the reader an idea of what the webpage is about.
Image tags are descriptions of images which are included in your webpage. All images included in your website should have a description.
